Zinergy was founded in 2016 with the vision of powering all types of flexible devices. Since its inception, as a spin out with academic background, things have come a long way. Today, Zinergy offers a full range of solutions. The flexible battery has been market proven, has an excellent reliability track record and has a volume manufacturing capability of millions of units per month. The full vertical is built in house, from device design, ink customisation and prototyping to volume cell manufacture. The team has expertise in a wide range of applications from logistics to lighting and is here to help you power your solution!

Leadership

Prof Gehan A. J. Amaratunga

Chairman

Professor Gehan Amaratunga FREng., FIET, FRSA, CEng. has held the 1966 Professorship in Engineering at the University of Cambridge since 1998. He heads the Electronics, Power and Energy Conversion Group, one of four major research groups within the Electrical Engineering Division of the Cambridge Engineering Faculty. Professor Amaratunga was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2004. In 2007 he was awarded the Royal Academy of Engineering Silver Medal 'for outstanding personal contributions to British engineering'

Dr Pritesh Hiralal

CTO

Having studied Physics, he completed his Ph.D. in Engineering at the Cambridge University. He has spent time in business in Spain and set up Casa Hiralal and Zendal Backup. He has spent time in industry at the Nokia Research Centre working on high power energy storage, and has published 30+ papers and 8 patents in the field. He has consulted for materials as well as energy storage device companies. He spent time as a Research Associate as well as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Cambridge and is now a founder and CEO at Zinergy.

Dr Dilek Ozgit Butler

Co-founder

Dr. Dilek Ozgit Butler received a BSc in Materials Engineering, and was granted a full scholarship PhD degree in Engineering Department at University of Cambridge where her focus was nanomaterial enhanced energy storage devices (batteries and supercapacitors). She is a co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Zinergy UK supervising the scientific development of printed battery technology with applications in future flexible electronics.

Dr Luigi Occhipinti

Non-Exec Director

Luigi Occhipinti, MEng PhD, is Outreach and Business Development Manager of the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Large-Area Electronics. He joined the University of Cambridge, Department of Engineering, in 2014 with 20 years of industrial experience in the field of semiconductors and integrated smart systems. Luigi is author and co-author of more than 85 scientific articles, 2 book chapters, and 37 patent families, and co-founder of CITC Ltd, a Cambridge start-up active in the medical field.

Man Chongyu

Director

Mr. Man possesses nearly 14 years of financial and industrial experience, and has operated more than 60 trusts or funds with an accumulative total amount of 18 billion RMB. He is holding a master degree from the University of Cambridge. Mr. Man was a trust investment manager and a private equity investment manager in Beijing International Trust Co.,Ltd. Now he is the co-founder and general manager of Beijing Guohuahuijin Asset Management Co., Ltd.

Dr. Zanxiang Nie

CEO Zinergy China

Dr. Zanxiang Nie received a BSc degree from Bath University and a PhD degree from Cambridge University. He has spent 3 years as a Post-doctor/research associate in Tsinghua University. He has 3 years’ experience as a general manager for running an investment and management company. His research interests include the interface and control circuits for various energy storage devices and renewable energy systems. He is now a founder, the CFO of Zinergy UK, and the CEO of Zinergy Shenzhen.

R&D Team and Sales

Karolina Spalek

Researcher and R&D manager

Karolina’s interest in chemistry and practical engineering solutions led her to study quality analysis in food technology obtaining an engineering and an M.Sc. degree in the subject. Her role at Zinergy requires her to be an R&D scientist as well as a battery engineer depending on particular need. She previously participated in an Innovate UK project on biosensor wristbands for the elderly as well as an electrode wettability study in collaboration with the National Physical Laboratory. Her latest project involves the development of thin power sources for cold chain logistics.

Tunde Geher-Herczeg

Research Chemist

Tunde obtained her master’s degree in chemistry in 2016 at the University of Szeged (Hungary), and later went on to pursue a multidisciplinary PhD project in biomedical engineering/polymer chemistry at the University of Reading (UK), where she has recently submitted her thesis. Her expertise includes smart and biomimetic polymers, as well as physical chemistry and nonlinear dynamics of oscillating chemical reactions.

Dr. Bhawna Chugh

Scientist

Dr. Bhawna Chugh obtained her PhD degree in Chemistry with a specialization in corrosion science from the University of Delhi, India. She has 5+ years of research experience in the development of corrosion inhibitors and published 20+ research papers and book chapters in this field.
